Some of the best conversations happen around a kitchen table, over coffee, in a garden, or while creating something beautiful together.
Making room for connections, friendship, and community in a world that often feels disconnected is especially important these days.
Whether it’s a dinner party, birthday celebration, book discussion, a creative hangout, or simply an excuse to slow down and spend time together, the goal is the same: it’s essential to find ways to incorporate connection in our often busy lives.

Backyard “thrown together” Picnic
Sometimes you’ve got about 4.5 minutes and hungry teens. So, you do what comes together fast. Quickly slap together some turkey and cheese sandwiches, whatever fruit is in the fridge, pour some veggie chips in a cute bowl and fill another to the brim with Doritos. And boom, just like that you’ve got a delightful lunch picnic. For this picnic, we used a fun green leaf shaped bowl, a gorgeous fluted amber bowl, some flowery dishes topped with the oh-so-fancy leftover graduation paper plates and napkins because you use what you have, am I right? And of course, make sure you have your trusty Labradoodle by your side for any scraps or dropped food, it’s better than a vacuum cleaner or an ant trail for the next week, in my opinion.

“When Life Gives You Lemons” celebration
Things do NOT have to be going well in order to celebrate. I mean, your life could be crumbling down around you, but you also have a friend with a belated birthday you want to celebrate. Plus, you’ve got an inordinate amount of lemon themed decor that’s just sitting in a box. Just me? Ok, well here’s how that went…
